WATERS


Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Barbara Brooks Waters, age 86 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, June 5, 2021.  Mrs. Waters was born in Latimore, North Carolina a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Gladys Jolley Brooks.  Mrs. Waters was a retired Medical Secretary from Pediatric Associates and a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church.  Mrs. Waters was instrumental in starting the Pendergrass Library many years ago that has benefited her local community for generations.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waters is preceded by her husband James C. Waters. 
 
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jean Waters Cronic and her husband Barry of Canon and Donna Waters of Pendergrass.  One son, James Waters of Pendergrass.  Grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Brooks Anne Wilson (Daniel Kaiser), Blake Wilson (Rebecca), and Bradley Wilson (Brooke), also nine great grandchildren.  Two sisters, Peggy Sosebee (W.T.) of Talmo, and Martha Floyd of Pendergrass.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from the Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tim Strickland officiating.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Evans Funeral Home and again 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Pendergrass, Georgia.

COCHRAN
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Connie Ruth Cochran, age 67, of Maysville, who passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Mrs. Cochran was born in Commerce, Georgia, a daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Florine Wade. Mrs. Cochran was a certified nursing assistant and attended the Pleasant Acres Church in Maysville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Wade.
Survivors include her husband, Dorsey Cochran of Maysville; son, Thomas Duane Brock and his wife Bridgette of Franklin County; grandchildren, Avery Brock of Maysville and Taylor Brock of Franklin County.
The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.

ALEXANDER
Nancy Buchan Alexander passed away on May 26, 2021, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia.  Nancy was born in Tallahassee, Florida on November 20, 1936, the only child of Horton and Myrick Buchan.  She was a graduate of Leon County High School and Florida State University.  Nancy married George Lemuel Alexander on April 13, 1963, and they lived in Atlanta, where daughter Elisabeth was born and then Macon, Georgia, where Emily was born.  The family later moved back to Atlanta and lived there for many years. Nancy worked as a Home Economist at Rich’s Department Store right out of college, eventually focusing on being a mother and homemaker. Upon reentering the work force she owned a travel agency, finally retiring as Director of Volunteer Services at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.  She was an avid traveler, reader, cook and volunteer.  Nancy was a loving “Ammaw” to her three grandchildren, a friend of Bill W. and a sponsor and inspiration to many others. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years, George.  She is survived by two children, Elisabeth Alexander Bobeck of Jacksonville, Florida and Emily Alexander Dorough (Joe) of Jefferson, Georgia and three grandchildren, Ellie, Ben and Jake Dorough.In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Nancy’s memory to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens at www.atlantabg.org  or Canine Assistants of Milton where Nancy volunteered. Online condolences at www.evansfuneralhomeinc.com

SAVAGE
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Wilton Randolph “Will” Savage, age, 66 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Wednesday, May 26, 2021.  Mr. Savage was born in Baldwin, Georgia a son of the late Clark Roger Savage and the late Mammie Viola Parr Savage.  Mr. Savage was a member of Tignall Baptist Church and worked in maintenance with Pilgrims Pride.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Savage is preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Roy and Ralph Savage and Randy Baker, and a sister, Brenda Savage.
 
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Campbell Savage of Pendergrass.  Son, Joseph Savage and his wife Stephanie of Talmo.  Grandsons, Trent Savage and his wife Jessica of Talmo, Waylon Randolph Savage of Clermont, and Dylan Brophy of Clermont.  Granddaughter Tiffany Savage of Talmo.  Four sisters, Madelyn Young, Kay Hanior, Dot Scott, and Mary Cuce.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 29, 2021, from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with cremation to follow after the service.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 28, 2021, at the funeral home.
