Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Harry Nelson Underwood, age 76 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, September 14, 2021.  Mr. underwood was born in Pendergrass, Georgia a son of the late William Tommy Underwood and the late Stella Mae Culpepper Underwood.  Mr. Underwood was retired from Wayne Farms and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mrs. Underwood is preceded in death by sisters, Blanche Kinney, Joan Underwood Cody, brothers, Johnny, Jimmy and Carey Underwood. 
 
Survivors include his wife Sheila Williamson Underwood of Pendergrass, two daughters, Judy Underwood Pearson (Steve) of Pendergrass and Jennifer Underwood (Kerry Jamison) of Lawrenceville.  Grandchildren, Chad Pearson (Angie Patrick), Casey Reed (Sandy Duncan), Jaylin Reed (Genna Langford), and London Jamison.  Great grandchildren, Patrick and Chase Pearson and Camryn Reed.  Two brothers, Thomas Underwood (Linda) of Pendergrass, and Charles Underwood (Jan) of Pendergrass.  Sister, Shirley Underwood Channell of Jefferson.  Two brother in laws, Clelle Kinney (Shirley) of Pendergrass and John Cody of Jefferson.  Numerous  nieces, nephews, and loving in laws also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 19, 2021 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Strickland officiating with burial to follow in the Wyatt and Serena Williamson Family Plot at Evans Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Thomas and Charles Underwood, Steve, Chad, Patrick and Chase Pearson, Josh Hollis, Casey and Jaylin Reed and Todd Underwood.

POTTS
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Edna Earl Barrett Potts, age 87 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, September 14, 2021.  Mrs. Potts was born in Commerce, Georgia a daughter of the late Early and Ermine Barrett, was retired from Georgia Power Company and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Potts is preceded by her husband Charles Lowry “C.L.” Potts, sister; Louise Sailors, and two brothers, Jack and Elwyn Barrett
 
Survivors include one sister, Virginia Parker of Commerce, ten nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
 
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 17, 2021 from Jackson Memorial Park with Pastor Larisa Parker and Shanon Potts Willard Officiating.  The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.

PARKS
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mary Nell Davis Parks, age 82 of Homer, Georgia, who passed away on September 11, 2021.  Mrs. Parks was born in Commerce, Georgia, a daughter of the late Willie Charles Davis and the late Vinnie Ayers Davis. Mrs. Parks was a member of StonePath Church and was a retired buyer for Baker and Taylor. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parks is preceded in death by her husband Henry Osborne Parks Jr., brothers, Joe Buck Davis, Billy Ayers and sister, Frances Ayers Childers.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Bingham and her husband Rev. Winfred Bingham of Maysville, a son, Henry David Parks and his wife Jody of Homer; five grandchildren, Neil Bingham and his wife Beverly of Winder, Andy Bingham and his wife Jessica of Maysville, Ashlie Pelham and her Husband Matt of Jefferson, Garrett Parks and his wife Danielle of Commerce, and Melissia Parks of Lawrenceville; twelve great grandchildren also survive.
 
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM from Dry Pond United Methodist Church with Reverend Dugar Strickland officiating. The burial will follow in the Dry Pond United Methodist Church Cemetery with Neil Bingham, Andy Bingham, Garrett Parks, Matt Pelham, Ricky Hemphill, Steve Lanier honored as pallbearers.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.

VALENTI
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Ernestine (Rusti) Valenti, age 89, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Ernestina Elisa Maria Barile Swarbrick Valenti was an only child, born in Bronx, New York, a daughter to the late Oreste and Anita Soliano Barile.  Her love for animals started at a very young age as she grew up living across the street from the Bronx Zoo.  Mrs. Valenti was of the Christian Faith, a graduate of Mother Cabrini High School Of New York City in 1950.  She then went on to open her own dance studio in the Bronx teaching many children her love for dance.  In the early 1950’s her love for children was so strong she became a foster parent.  She continued to be well known by many as Aunt Rusti (both in NJ and GA) in her 50 year career as a childcare provider while being an amazing, strong, loving, caring, selfless single mom of her own six children.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Valenti as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Helen and her husband Carl Passera of New Jersey, son, Tom and his wife Brenda Swarbrick of Auburn, GA, daughter, Maryann and her husband Dennis Day of Jefferson, GA (whom Mrs. Valenti resided with,) Catherine Ax of New Jersey, son, John and his wife Carol Swarbrick of Walnut Grove, GA,  daughter, Carol Swarbrick of New Jersey, three bonus children, Judy Goodridge of Florida, Katharine McGovern of Florida and Roberta Eckhardt of North Carolina; Grandchildren, Catherine Day, Dennis and his wife Rachel Day, Lisa, Kristopher and Ryan Ax, Logan, Sam and Catherine Passera, Christopher Colfax; Great Grandchildren, Avery and Noah Day; cousin Marc Matranga; Goddaughter Donna LaGrange;

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Loretta Longo Pittman, age, 77 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered, into rest Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  Mrs. Pittman was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of the late John Benjamin and Loretta Doran Longo.  Mrs. Pittman was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Fork Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pittman is preceded by a brother, Charles Wesley Longo.
 
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Leon Monroe Pittman of Pendergrass.  Son, Christopher Brian Pittman and his wife Karin Hollis of Jefferson, daughter, Wendy Lynn Pittman Clark and her husband Chris of Pendergrass, son, Tracy Monroe Pittman of Carnesville.  Brother, John Thoburn Longo and his wife Josephine of Buford.  Grandchildren, Chris, Jordan, Hunter, Slone, Creed, Cody, Justin, Jonathan, Evan, Grace, Emmaline, Elijah, Benjamin and Leah.  Great grandchildren, Tyla, Traxton, Kelbi, Aiden, Camden, Heyden, Jacob, Caden, Nate, Jackson, Preston and Avery.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Rembert Lee Hall, Jr., age 82 of Hoschton, Georgia who entered into rest Monday, September 6, 2021.  Mr. Hall was born in Calhoun, Georgia, a son of the late Rembert Lee Hall, Sr. and the late Ruby Clements Hall.  Mr. Hall was a member of the Georgia National Guard and Galilee Christian Church and was retired from Colonial Baking Company.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall is preceded by brothers, Joe Chadwick, Charles Lamar Hall, and James Felton Hall.  Sisters, Betty Lee Hall Walraven and Will Nell Hall Serritt.
 
Survivors include his wife, Frances Carol Bennett Hall of Hoschton.  Son, David Lee Hall (Drucilla) of Danielsville.  Three grandchildren, Jessica Lee Hall Rampley (Justin), Megan Marie Hall, Averyanna Faith Hall Calloway (Chandler).  Two great grandchildren, Corbin Brian Calloway and Ricky Eugene Rampley. Former daughter in law, Lori Murray.  One brother, Larry Steven Hall also survives.
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 9, 2021 from the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Nick Vipperman and Minister Tom Plank officiating.  Burial will follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Church.  Those attending are asked to wear protective masks and maintain safe social distancing due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Samuel Wesley Holder, age 60 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Monday, September 6, 2021.  Mr. Holder was born in Winder, Georgia a son of the late Baxter N. Holder and Wilma Baird Holder of Pendergrass.  Mr. Holder was a member of Walnut Fork Baptist Church and was a retired Golf Course Equipment Mechanic.  In addition to his father, Mr. Holder is preceded by a brother, Barry Holder.
 
Survivors in addition to his mother, are aunts Irene Hackett of Jefferson, Sylvia Holder of Lawrenceville, uncle, Albert Holder of Dawsonville.  Special cousin, Shela Nolan and fifteen plus cousins who loved him and will miss him.
 
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Corey Sexton officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Cemetery.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Sammy Wayne “Sam” Harp, age 47, of Winder, Georgia who passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.  Mr. Harp was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a son to Mrs. Martha Lorina Elrod Harp of Winder and the late Sammy Leon Harp.  Mr. Harp was a General Manager for Arby’s and was a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia.  In addition to his father, Mr. Harp was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.C. and Minnie Elrod, and Lee Harp; aunt, Marilyn Elrod, uncles, Mark Elrod and Elton Elrod and grandchild, Braxton Evan Clark.
 
Survivors include his wife Kim Harp; children, Andreanna Harp and her fiance’ Rodney Evan Clark, Bethany Harp and Samuel Harp all of Winder; mother, Martha Elrod Harp of Winder, granddaughter, Alayah Clark; sisters, Connie Stephens and her husband Michael of Adairsville, Nannette Potts and her husband Jeff of Cartersville; father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Mary Roberts of Jefferson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. Randy Patton officiating.  The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens with Michael Stephens, Dennis Roberts, Earl Sorrow, Taylor Cole, Jake Brown and Todd Brown honored as pallbearers.

ANGLIN
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mary Lou Anglin, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Mrs. Anglin was born in Brenham, Texas, a daughter to the late Ludell Walker and the late Edgar Jones. Mrs. Anglin worked for years at the Gwinnett Daily Post and was a Front Office Assistant for a medical office. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anglin was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Reece and Mattie Lou Walker; her husband, Gene Anglin and her brothers, Robert Walker, Lonnie Walker and Grady Walker.
Survivors include her children, Shannon McCarty Overstreet and her fiancé, Fred Gaunce of Jefferson, Michael McCarty and his wife Stacey of Dacula; sister, Charlotte Glenn of Houston, TX, grandchildren, Zachary McCarty, MacKenzie McCarty and her husband Kevin Tello; Michaela McCarty, step grandchildren, Ryan Overstreet, Jessica Overstreet, Patrick Overstreet, Reed Overstreet; 2 great grandchildren, Ayden Tello and Meekah Malvo also survives.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Mantooth officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens.

BAXTER


Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Terry Franklin Baxter, age 51 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, August 28, 2021.  Mr. Baxter was born in Royston, Georgia a son of Frank and Roberta “Cooter” Kilgore Baxter of Ila and was a Diesel Mechanic with Air Gas Corporation.
 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife, Lisa Wilson Baxter of Pendergrass.  Two sons, Terry “Scoot” Baxter (Hannah) of Jefferson and Nicholas “Worm” Baxter (Maggie) of Pendergrass.  Grandchildren, Hank Thomas Baxter and Kennady Lankford.  Brother, Tony Baxter of Ila and a sister Lisa Brookshire (Myles) of Homer.
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Keith Lloyd Conner, age 69 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, August 28, 2021.  Mr. Conner was born in Miami, Florida, a son of the late Thurman Reed Conner and Marilyn Kathleen Lloyd Conner of Seminole, Florida.  Mr. Conner was a retired Paramedic with Children’s Health Care of Atlanta.
 
Survivors in addition to his mother is his wife Maria Isabel Aguilar Conner of Jefferson.  Two daughters, Joan Dobbs (Michael) of Jefferson, Alexa Pace (Brian) of Monticello.  Three sons, Kyle Conner (Julie) of Buford, Nathan Conner (Jackie) of Buford, Jared Conner (Clara) of Jefferson.  Brother Tom Conner (Bea) of St. Petersburg, Florida.  Grandchildren, Jordan Fraley, Andrea Fraley, Alex Conner, Bailee Pace, Jordan Pace, Weston Conner, Lexis Conner, Avery Dobbs, Mollie Conner, Tristyn Conner, Camryn Conner, Kayden Conner, Riley Pace, Aubrey Conner, and Taylor Conner.  One great grandson, Conner Studivant and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Tommy Gene McDonald, age 79 of Ellenwood, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, August 27, 2021.  Mr. McDonald was born in Hiawassee, Georgia a son of the late Nathan A. and Della Carroll McDonald.  Mr. McDonald was retired from Gulf Oil Corporation and was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Ellwood, Georgia.  In addition to his parents Mr. McDonald is preceded by ten brothers and sisters.
 
Survivors include his wife, Betty Nicholas McDonald of Ellenwood.  Son, Tommy Gene McDonald, Jr. of Flowery Branch, two daughters, Marsha McDonald Robinson (Scott C.) of Pell City, Alabama and Julia Diann Pontsler (Tim A.) of Jefferson.  Sister Shirley Keller (Ben) of Clarksville.  Six grandchildren, Trevor McDonald, Kaira McDonald, Larissa McDonald, Taylor Robinson, Kaleb Robinson, and Megan Pontsler.  Two great grandchildren, Bentley McDonald and Harper McDonald. 
 
Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Mike Pinson officiating.   The family will receive friends at the graveside, those attending should wear protective masks and maintain safe social distancing due to the COVID19 outbreak.

MACK
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Reverend Julius Mack, age 63 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Wednesday, August 25, 2021.  Reverend Mack was born in Jefferson, Georgia, a son of the late Jesse Mack McCluskey and the late Virginia Lee Jackson Mack.  Reverend Mack had been the Pastor of Bush River Baptist Church for twenty-nine years, worked for Mainstreet Newspapers for fifty years and was currently the Printing Shop Foreman.
 
Survivors include his wife Laverne Wilson Mack of Jefferson, two sons, Theron Brown and his wife Erica of Jefferson, Corey Mack and his wife Chiquita of Jefferson.  Daughter, Julia Teasley and her husband Anthony of Jefferson.  Four brothers, Bennie Mack and his wife Hazel of Jefferson, Jackie McCluskey and his wife Gloria, of Jefferson, Willie Howard McCluskey and his wife Jackie of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Wallace McCluskey and his wife Sue of Hoschton.  Thirteen Grandchildren also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 30 from the Galilee Christian Church with Reverends Terrell Shields, Tommy Sewell, Steve Jackson, Fred Wilson, Frank Roebuck and Mitchell Appleby officiating.  Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the funeral home. 
 
Due to the Covid 19 outbreak, those attending visitation and funeral services will be required to wear a mask.
